Mirror

I am the dead happiness
Emptied by the pain you bring.
I am a reflection
Of every word you tell me.
I can’t feel the bloody knees anymore;
Still cannot lift myself up
From the shame and isolation
Within the four walls of my seclusion.
I stretch my lip corners
To give you light.
I am the shining that keeps you alive
At the cost of myself.
The calm lake where you hide
All your darkest secrets
Has started drying out.
I am the waters of this vast lake,
That you fail to notice
Every time you look at me.
Always there.
Always transparent.
Never with you.
